Refund and billing policy

This policy covers how Wiredepth charges paid subscriptions, how renewals work, and how to get a refund if something goes wrong. Plain English. Less than 600 words.

What you pay

  • Free tier: $0. The public on-demand tools (TLS, DMARC, DNS, headers, etc.) require no signup and no credit card. The free signed-in tier covers 1 monitored domain on a daily scan cadence (no AI features). Free accounts cannot be billed by us, ever - we have no way to charge you because we never collected your card.
  • Starter: $30/month or $324/year. Up to 5 monitored domains, hourly cadence, full posture coverage (TLS, DMARC, DNS, headers, BIMI, MTA-STS, subdomain drift), alerts, AI playbooks (5/mo). No threat-intel layer.
  • Pro: $79/month or $853/year. Up to 10 monitored domains, everything in Starter plus the threat-intel layer (reputation, MX/NS hijack detection, certificate revocation re-checks), AI playbooks (10/mo), read-only REST API.
  • Power User: $349/month or $3,769/year. Up to 30 monitored domains, everything in Pro plus brand watchlist, credential-leak monitoring, ransomware leak-site monitoring, subdomain takeover-risk alerts, phishing-kit fingerprinting, supply-chain (vendor) watchlist, AI playbooks (30/mo).
  • MSP: $699/month or $7,549/year. Up to 100 monitored domains across your client portfolio, everything in Pro, AI playbooks (100/mo), client labels, co-branded reports, per-domain alert routing.
  • Enterprise: starting at $3,995/month. 250 domains included; custom pricing for larger deployments. Sales-priced. We email you a Stripe Checkout link or ACH invoice depending on contract terms.
  • Founder pricing: Bootstrapped or pre-Series-A founders get an additional 10% off any annual plan. Email [email protected] and we will issue a Stripe coupon code.

How renewals work

  • Monthly plans renew every 30 days from the original signup date.
  • Annual plans renew every 365 days. Charged once in advance for the full year.
  • Auto-renewal is on by default. You can turn it off any time from /account/billing; the subscription continues to the end of the paid period and then stops without further charges.
  • Failed payments: Stripe automatically retries a failed renewal up to 4 times over 21 days. We email you on each attempt. If all retries fail the subscription is cancelled and your account drops back to free tier (your data is kept; monitoring stops).

How to cancel

Click Manage subscription on /account/billing. The button opens the Stripe Customer Portal where you can cancel, change plans, update your card, or download invoices. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period - your subscription stays active until then with no further charges after.

We do not require you to email us, fill out a survey, or talk to retention before cancelling. Two clicks and you are done.

Refund eligibility

  • Within 7 days of first charge. Email [email protected] with the Stripe charge reference (`ch_...`). We refund the full amount, no questions asked, typically within 2-3 business days.
  • Service outage credits. If our scan worker is offline for more than 6 consecutive hours during your billing period and the outage was on our side (not your DNS, not a third-party API we depend on), email us for a pro-rated credit on the next renewal.
  • Mid-period cancellation refunds. We do not pro-rate refunds when you cancel mid-period unless your local consumer protection law requires it. Your subscription stays active to the end of the paid period regardless.
  • Annual plan partial refunds. After the 7-day window, annual plans are non-refundable for the unused portion. You keep access to the end of the year.
  • Chargebacks. If you dispute a charge with your card issuer instead of emailing us, your account is suspended while Stripe and the issuer work it out. We will respond to Stripe with our records but will not contest a refund where the customer was unhappy with the service - we would rather you be a satisfied non-customer than an unhappy customer.

Changes to pricing

If we change the price of a plan, existing subscribers get at least 30 days notice by email before the new price applies to their renewal. If you do not accept the new price, cancel before the renewal date and you will not be charged at the new rate. Locked-in annual plans honour the rate you signed up at for the full year.

Sales tax / VAT / GST

Stripe handles tax calculation per your billing address. Charges shown on the pricing page are exclusive of tax; the final amount on your invoice may be higher depending on your location. Wiredepth is registered for tax in jurisdictions where the law requires us to collect.
